Dear members of the Korean Society of Echocardiography
Dear Members of the Korean Society of Echocardiography
Greetings. I am Cho, Goo-Yeong from Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, and I will be leading our society for the next two years beginning in 2026. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to address you as President, and I feel both the weight of responsibility and a profound sense of mission. Over the past 33 years, the Korean Society of Echocardiography has established the clinical role and academic value of echocardiography in Korea, and has steadily expanded its presence on the world stage through international exchange and scholarly activities. I believe this growth is entirely due to the dedication and passion of our members, and I extend my sincere respect and gratitude to each of you.
Now, our society stands at another turning point. In this era of rapidly advancing artificial intelligence and digital health technology, quantification of image analysis, and precision medicine, the role of echocardiography continues to expand. At the same time, we face significant real-world challenges including the declining influx of young researchers, the heavy workload in clinical settings, and educational demands. Amid these changes, I envision building our society around three pillars.
First, innovation in artificial intelligence and future strategy. I aim to establish a digital education platform that allows all members to engage with artificial intelligence according to their skill level and areas of interest. Second, a society that embraces the younger generation. I will actively support young researchers by expanding research funding, mentoring programs, and international presentation opportunities, so they can view this society as a stage for their own growth. Third, we will strengthen our role as a society that contributes to social value. Through echocardiography volunteer services for medically underserved areas and patient-tailored information platforms, we will enhance the public nature and accessibility of echocardiography. Of course, we will also continue our global partnerships and work to secure our position as an Asian echocardiography hub.
Dear members, our society is more than just a space for accumulating knowledge. It is a community that designs the future and connects generations. As President, I will listen to your opinions, engage in discussion together, and strive for an open society that we build together. Looking toward the coming year and the decade beyond, I look forward to opening new horizons for our society together with you. I ask for your interest, participation, and thoughtful guidance.
