The Korean Society of Echocardiography values the personal information of members and complies with the Act on the Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection. The Korean Society of Echocardiography informs you of the purpose and method of using the personal information you provide and what measures are being taken to protect your personal information through the privacy handling policy.

1. Purpose of collection and use of personal information
The purpose of the Korean Society of Echocardiography for collecting personal information is to provide the best and most customized service to members through the website of the Korean Society of Echocardiography. The Korean Society of Echocardiography provides various conference content. Based on the personal information provided by the member at this time, we can provide selectively more useful information to the member.
In addition, in order to provide additional information services or to add new functions and improve services, except in cases where the minimum user information (name, address, phone number) necessary for delivery is notified to the shipping company for purpose of delivery of various conference publications, we do not collect, organize, or analyze information for any other purpose. However, as necessary for statistical writing and market research, information may be collected, organized, or analyzed in a form in which a specific individual cannot be identified.
The Korean Society of Echocardiography does not disclose or distribute the member's personal information known in the service provision process to a third party without the member's consent. However, if there is a request from a government agency pursuant to laws such as the Telecommunications Business Act, if there is a criminal investigation purpose, if there is a request by Korea Internet Safety Commission, if there is a request in accordance with the procedures stipulated by other related laws, or if a member disclose the personal information provided to us by himself/herself, this is not the case if the personal information is provided and notified in accordance with this privacy handling policy.
2. Items of personal information to be collected and method of collection
Membership levels of the Korean Society of Echocardiography are classified into two categories: Associate Member and Regular Member. Personal information is requested for each category at the time of membership registration on the website.
When membership registering for the Society, we collect input items such as name, ID, password, e-mail address, date of birth, doctor's license number, specialist number, address, contact information, and major subject.
However, we do not request information that may infringe on the user's basic human rights (race and ethnicity, ideology and creed, place of birth and permanent address, political orientation, criminal record, etc.).

3. Provision and sharing of personal information
In principle, the Korean Society of Echocardiography does not disclose members' personal information to others or other companies and institutions. However, exceptions are made when the member agrees to the disclosure or when there are sufficient grounds to determine that personal information should be disclosed to take legal action against the person violating the terms and conditions of using the Korean Society of Echocardiography services or the person causing legal harm to others or harm public morals using the Korean Society of Echocardiography services. Even in this case, it is not provided to individuals and can only be provided to investigative agencies according to the prescribed procedure.
The Korean Society of Echocardiography may disclose members' personal information to business partners under the member's consent to provide better service. Even in this case, prior to information collection or information provision, the member is notified of whom the business partner is, what kind of information is needed, why, how long, and how it is protected/managed. We will not collect or share any additional information with our business partners if a member does not consent.
4. Matters concerning the installation, operation, and rejection of automatic personal information collection devices
In order to provide personalized and customized services to each member, we use 'cookies' to store and retrieve member information from time to time. Cookies are small data packages that the server used to run the website sends to the user's browser and are stored on the hard disk of the member's computer.

5. How to view, modify, and withdraw personal information
Members can view or correct their registered personal information at any time. You can view and correct your personal information at the Korean Society of Echocardiography > Member Information.
6. Retention and disposal of personal information
While you are receiving the services provided by the Korean Society of Echocardiography, your personal information will be retained by the Korean Society of Echocardiography and used to provide services. If you request a withdrawal, we will delete your personal information entered at the time of membership registration as soon as you request the withdrawal.

7. Handling consignment of personal information
1) The Korean Society of Echocardiography consigns the handling of personal information to an external professional company as follows in order to perform its services.

2) When the processing of personal information is consigned, in order to ensure the safety of personal information protection, matters such as strict adherence to personal information protection instructions, confidentiality of personal information, prohibition of provision to third parties, responsibilities in case of accidents, the consignment period, and the return or destruction of personal information after the completion of processing are clearly stipulated, and the contents of the contract are kept in writing or electronically.
3) If the consignee or the contents of the consigned work change, we will give notice by at least one of the following methods: in writing, e-mail, telephone, SMS, or a similar method.
8. Technical and administrative plan for personal information protection
The Korean Society of Echocardiography applies a strong firewall and intrusion detection system to block harmful information from external intrusion and protect personal information. However, member information is managed solely by the member's ID and password. Therefore, do not disclose your ID and password to anyone, and be sure to log out when finishing work. This is necessary to protect your information when using a computer in a public place such as an Internet cafe or library where you have to share a computer with others.
The Korean Society of Echocardiography limits the number of staff handling personal information to a minimum and emphasizes compliance with this policy by providing regular training to the staff in charge. We take corrective actions right away when finding any problems by checking whether the performance of this policy and the staff in charge complies.

- The Korean Society of Echocardiography does its best to prevent members' personal information from being leaked or damaged by hacking or computer viruses.
- In preparation for damage to personal information, data is backed up from time to time, and the latest vaccine program is used to prevent members' personal information or data from being leaked or damaged. Personal information is transmitted safely over the network through encrypted communication, etc.
- In addition, an intrusion prevention system is used to control unauthorized access from outside, and we strive to equip all possible technical devices to secure systematic security.
3) Minimization and training of staff handling personal information
- The staff of the Korean Society of Echocardiography handling personal information is limited to the person in charge, and a separate password is granted for this purpose and renewed regularly. Personal information is managed safely through regular training for the person in charge.
- The handover of duties of those handling personal information is carried out thoroughly under maintained security, and responsibility for personal information accidents after joining and leaving the organization is clarified.
- The computer room and data storage room, etc., are designated as special protection areas and access is strictly controlled.

11. Notification of changes to the privacy handling policy
